Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description

Amerline Enterprises Company, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of electrical power connectors and wire harnesses both for military and commercial applications, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with a minimum of 5 years of quality control management experience. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure that Amerline’s products are manufactured in accordance with military / customer specifications and industrial standards (ISO 9001, UL, CSA). Thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, and ISO 9001:2015 standards is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the overall quality specifications, standards, inspection and testing procedures for incoming materials, in-process and finished products
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans and process control procedures to ensure that finished products meet quality specifications and standards
  • Read and analyze job travelers, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine inspection requirements and to evaluate current inspection estimates and outputs
  • Coordinate the UL/CSA quarterly audits and maintain material and assembly compliance
  • Initiate, review, and finalize customer Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Engineering and Production departments, as well as with Suppliers and Customers, regarding root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative actions in regards to internal and external quality and/or process issues (CPAR)
  • Review and disposition defective incoming supplier material. Initiate Material Return Authorizations (MRN), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
  • Conduct Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as needed in regards to external or internal defects/non-compliances
  • Maintain the Risk and Opportunity Identification, Review and Analysis Log (COTO LOG)
  • Maintain and direct Amerline’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and any future releases ensuring that all requirements are established and met.
  • Manage and maintain the Internal Audit process. This includes scheduling the audits and ensuring that all non-conformances have been addressed and corrected as required by the quality management system.
  • Responsible for collecting, monitoring, maintaining, and presenting data/reports pertaining to Internal Quality, Returned Materials and Supplier Quality performance.
  • Contact and /or visit customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems. Assist vendors in establishing inspection standards to meet Amerline’s quality requirements. Conduct supplier on-site audits, as required
  • Confer with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities between departments
  • Oversee the QA Supervisor and QA inspectors to ensure they are following company policies and procedures. Conduct performance reviews, offer constructive feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supervise the training of QA employees and maintain the training records 
  • Establish department priorities and assign workload to QA personnel
  • Review and finalize the PPAP process
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certification as Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Systems Manager (CQM) and/or Internal Auditor a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance management experience in the manufacturing environment (preferably, wire harness and cable assembly) 
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and upcoming changes
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Prior experience with PPAPs required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Epicor 10 or similar ERP system
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, go / no-go gages and other common inspection tools. 
  • Ability to interpret blueprints

Job Type:

  • Full-time

Pay:

  • $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
